The Freightliner Century class was introduced in 1995 as a new conventional Class 8 truck, designed to replace the FLD series. It was updated to the Century Class S/T in 2000 with a focus on safety and technology. Production was ended in 2011 as its role shifted to a more owner operator focused truck before being replaced by the Cascadia.
